Pennsylvania and other states (May 2018)

This was my second trip out to Boomi HQ, north of Philadelphia, Pa. As with previous business trips to the US, I've found flying out on a Saturday saves a bit and gives a day for exploration. This time round, I flew in and out of Newark, and hired a car to get to our Chesterbrook office. I went the long way round...

Five States

I set myself a personal Geocaching challenge to find caches in five states in one day. I'd stayed overnight near Newark Airport, and headed first for Staten Island, New York. From there, I drove 100 miles or so, south through New Jersey, before crossing the river into Delaware. Then, on to Maryland, and finally back up into Pennsylvania. I found my last cache of the day at the end of a really nice walk to the Pennsylvania-Maryland-Delaware tri-state marker.

Grover's Mill, New Jersey

On the journey down through New Jersey, I took a slight detour to Grover's Mill. This small community was made famous by Orson Welles' radio broadcast of 'The War of the Worlds' in 1938, where it was depicted as the first landing site of the Martian invasion. So, in a sense, twinned with Horsell Common. :-)

Liberty State Park

On my return to Newark at the end of the trip, I had enough time to stop off for a pleasent few hours in Liberty State Park.
